Bob Dewar somehow wandered off the tried and true path of reductionist physics into the enchanted forest of complex systems science. This was not completely by chance, as plasma physics is full of nonlinear, nonequilibrium emergent phenomena, but he is still trying to learn to navigate this realm by learning from all his coparticipants in the ARC Complex Open Systems Research Network (COSNet) of which he somehow found himself Convenor. Though not exactly an ECR he wishes he could be a participant in Mind Games, but will be with you all in spirit (and perhaps by Skype) as he will be visiting the University of Tokyo during the workshop.
