Research Topics

Demographic impacts of future sea-level rise on Adelaide: a case study for Australian populations

Publications

A few co-authored papers will be published within one year but I do have finished some technical reports in engineering as well as theses unpublished in recent years.

End-User Applications

Impact models of climate change/sea-level rise
Extreme sea-level modelling (e.g. storm surge)
Hydrodynamic models (e.g. ground water and surface water)
Economic models of the impacts of climate change
Bayesian Data Analysis/modeling
Agent-based models
Network theory and models

Professional or Public Outreach Activities

2008 Summer School for Research Higher Degree Students in Spatially Integrated Social Science Theory and Methods (The Australian Research Council Research Network in Spatially Integrated Social Science (ARCRNSISS))

Complex Systems Software

ArcInfo (Using it daily in expert level)
GRASS (have strong interests to learn)
SPSS (Occasionally used)
R (Most interested and started learning)

Grants

I had been a full-time Research Assistant from Aug. 2006 to April. 2007 supported by an ARC-Linkage grant (Research of Material Culture in Pupa New Guinea, taken by the University of Adelaide and the South Australian Museum).

Membership/Fellowship of Key Organisations

Membership of Spatial Sciences Institute (SSI)

Awards and Distinctions

I had been a successful computer engineer/information systems designer before I became a professional of spatial analysis. I am now making efforts to become an excellent modeler, addressing the complex issue of climate change impacts in multidisciplinary dimensions.
